Пропонований посібник має на меті дати вчителеві англійської мови оригінальний, емоційно забарвлений матеріал для навчання аудіювання та усного мовлення. Посібник складається з трьох частин. У першій частині вміщено п'ятдесят коротких гумористичних оповідань, які мають мінімум лексико-граматичних труднощів і можуть бути використані на різних етапах вивчення англійської мови. Після текстів подано лексичні одиниці, які вчителю слід пояснити учням перед початком роботи. Для контролю розуміння та організації мовлення до кожного оповідання подано план висловлювання у вигляді запитань. У другій частині вміщено тридцять дитячих пісень, які відображають звичаї та традиції американського народу. Тексти оповідань та пісень записані на аудіокасеті. Третя частина включає оригінальні англійські казки. Для контролю розуміння до кожної казки подані запитання. Посібник можна використовувати у різних типах навчальних закладів, де вивчається англійська мова.
